The Kakinada Kings square off against the Vijayawada Sunshiners in Match No. 6 of the Andhra Premier League 2026 on June 12 at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.

This will be the Kakinada Kings' second game of the season, following their roaring start against the Simhadri Vizag Lions. The Kings finished fifth on the table in 2025, narrowly missing out on the playoffs, but they look determined to orchestrate a much deeper run this time around.

The Vijayawada Sunshiners, on the other hand, find themselves hunting for their first points after dropping a tight opening contest to the Bhimavaram Bulls. Having finished fourth in the 2025 season, the Sunshiners are eager to right the ship quickly, bounce back from their initial setback, and disrupt the Kings' early momentum.

The ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam is one of the batting-friendly grounds in the country. The wickets is of red soil, hence assist the batters. The ball comes on to the bat nicely, and it is easy for batters to score runs freely here. In the first few matches so far, teams have easily breached the 200-run mark, indicating a flat nature of the surface.

The left-arm spinner from Kakinada Kings, Anjaneyulu Midde had a stunning outing in the first match of their season. He picked up three wickets, while giving away just 25 runs, and played an instrumental part.
