Bangladesh T20 captain Litton Das was recently questioned regarding the team's plans at the upcoming ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. A reporter had framed the question in front of Litton at a press conference of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025-26, to which Litton gave a reply that left everyone stunned.
Litton said that even he, despite being the captain of the side, is not sure whether Bangladesh are going to travel to India for the global event. He also said that the kind of wickets that the teams are playing the BPL on are not ideal for the preparation ahead of the twenty-team event, which is slated to kick off on February 07 across India and Sri Lanka.
“Are you sure we are going to play in the World Cup? In fact, there is still a long time to go before the World Cup, and we are not even certain whether we will go at all. This is by no means an ideal wicket for T20 cricket. We had expected a much better wicket for a qualifier match,” Litton was quoted as saying by The Daily Star.
