Arjun Tendulkar will continue playing for Goa in domestic cricket
Arjun Tendulkar has reportedly decided he will continue his domestic cricket career with Goa. The left-arm pacer and batter, who represents Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has clarified his future after recent uncertainty surrounding his involvement with the state association.
The decision comes after Tendulkar missed Goa's tour of Oman, which sparked questions about his commitment to domestic cricket. According to Sportstar, citing sources within the association, Tendulkar will remain with Goa for his domestic career.
Tendulkar made his first-class debut for Goa on December 13, 2022, against Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy at Porvorim. In that match, he scored a maiden century, hitting 120 off 207 balls in the first innings, an impressive start to his domestic career. His last first-class appearance for Goa came in a Ranji Trophy match against Kerala at Porvorim from January 29 to February 1, 2026.
The 26-year-old, born on September 24, 1999, switched from Mumbai to Goa in August 2022 to pursue greater opportunities in domestic cricket. During IPL 2026, Tendulkar had to wait until the final match of the season for an opportunity to feature in the tournament. His last IPL match came on May 23, 2026, when Lucknow Super Giants faced Punjab Kings at Lucknow, marking the end of a challenging season for the young cricketer.
After his debut game for the Super Giants, Arjun received words of praise and wisdom from his father Sachin Tendulkar, one of the greatest to have played the sport.
"Well done, Arjun. Proud of the way you've carried yourself through this season, always believing in your ability, staying patient, working hard quietly, and remaining positive despite having to wait for your opportunity till the very last match," Sachin wrote on social media.
