Team India’s young opener Abhishek Sharma continued his red-hot form in the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four clash against Bangladesh in Dubai, delighting the crowd with yet another explosive knock. But what truly caught the cameras was the sight of his sister, Komal Sharma, passionately cheering for her brother from the stands.
The left-handed batter, who has been in scintillating form since the start of the tournament, had a scratchy beginning to his innings against Bangladesh. But once he found his rhythm, Abhishek was simply unstoppable. He needed just 25 balls to reach his half-century, marking yet another explosive knock in the Asia Cup 2025. This followed his superb 74 off 39 deliveries against arch-rivals Pakistan at the same venue earlier in the tournament.
At 7.3 overs, facing Saif Hassan, Abhishek nudged a delivery towards deep mid-wicket for a single that brought up his fifty. It was his fourth T20I half-century, his second in a row at this Asia Cup, and one that underlined his purple patch. Abhishek raised his bat to acknowledge the cheers, as the crowd erupted in celebration. Adding a personal touch to the moment, Abhishek’s sister was spotted in the stands, overwhelmed with joy. She captured the milestone on her phone, clapping and raising her hands in delight as she applauded her brother’s heroics. The heartwarming gesture perfectly captured the emotions of the Sharma family, watching their star shine on the big stage.
And just like that, Abhishek Sharma reaches his fifty 🤯

India’s batting innings in Dubai has revolved around the brilliance of Abhishek, who once again showcased his explosive form at the Asia Cup 2025. After Bangladesh won the toss and elected to field, Abhishek and Shubman Gill gave India a flying start, putting on 77 runs in just 6.2 overs. Abhishek, though initially scratchy, switched gears in style to hammer a 25-ball half-century, eventually racing to 75 off just 37 deliveries with six fours and five sixes before being run out. Gill contributed a fluent 29 off 19 before falling to Rishad Hossain.
However, after the strong opening, India lost momentum as wickets fell in clusters Shivam Dube, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma departed cheaply, leaving India at 135/5 after 16 overs. Hardik Pandya (12* off 13) and Axar Patel (4* off 6) are holding the fort, with India eyeing a finish close to 170 on a pitch that has slowed down. Bangladesh’s bowlers fought back well after the powerplay, with Rishad claiming two wickets and Mustafizur Rahman and Tanzim Hasan Sakib striking once each. The game is evenly poised as India looks to maximize the final four overs while Bangladesh aims to restrict them under 170.
