Asian Cricket Council *ACC) President and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi was brutally ignored by members from the Indian cricket team during the post-match ceremony after they emerged victorious in the Asia Cup 2025 final in Dubai. The Men in Blue overpowered their arch-rivals by five wickets to clinch their ninth title.
The post-match ceremony did not happen as the members of the triumphant Indian team decided not to accept medals and trophies from the ACC president due to the stance he has had on India as a nation in the wake of the recent Pahalgam terror attack. The players could be seen relaxed on the field, chatting around with each other while sitting on the turf with phones in their hands.
Coming to the match, India rode through on the back of a composed half-century from Tilak Varma (69* off 53) to chase the total set by the Green Shirts. Earlier in the match, Kuldeep Yadav (4/30 in 4 overs) shone with the ball as the Indian spinners took eight wickets in total.
Do whatever you want: Naqvi makes controversial remark
It wasn't the easiest of chases for the Suryakumar Yadav-led unit as they lost three wickets in quick succession inside the powerplay. The ball was holding up in the pitch for the earlier part of the innings.
Earlier in the match, Pakistan threw away a positive start to get bundled out for 146 in 19.1 overs from a position of 84 for no loss at one point in time. No other batter apart from the top three scored double digits.
