Asia Cup 2025: Match 4, Pakistan vs Oman Match Preview

Pakistan square off against Oman in match No. 4 of the ongoing Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai on Friday, September 12.
Pakistan are coming into the tournament after winning a tri-series in Sharjah against the UAE and Afghanistan. The Men in Green won four out of the five matches they played in the series. Their only defeat came against Afghanistan in the round-robin stage of the tournament.
Before the tri-series, Pakistan had toured the West Indies last month. Salman Ali Agha and Co. defeated the two-time T20 World Cup champions 2-1. The likes of Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman will hold the key for Pakistan at the top of the order.
Hasan Nawaz and Mohammad Nawaz have also been in fine form. Shaheen Shah Afridi will lead the bowling attack, while left-arm wrist spinner Sufiyan Muqeem is expected to play a key role through the middle overs.
Oman could be a bit short of game time when it comes to playing T20 cricket. Their last series was at home against the USA in February. The Jatinder Singh-led side lost all three games in the series.
Jatinder, Hammad Mirza, and Vinayak Shukla will be the key batters for Oman. Sufyan Mehmood and Aamir Kaleem will look to add more balance to the Oman side with their all-round abilities. Meanwhile, Shakeel Ahmed and Hassnain Shah could take the new ball.
The surface at the Dubai International Stadium is expected to be good for batting. However, the new ball could move around under the lights. Batters who get themselves set at the crease will look to convert their starts into substantial scores.
This is going to be the first meeting between Pakistan and Oman in the T20 format.
Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Fakhar Zaman, Salman Agha (C), Hasan Nawaz, Mohammad Haris (WK), Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Sufiyan Muqeem, Abrar Ahmed/Haris Rauf.
Aamir Kaleem, Jatinder Singh (C), Hammad Mirza, Hassnain Shah, Mohammad Nadeem, Ashish Odedara, Vinayak Shukla (WK), Sufyan Mehmood, Shakeel Ahmed, Samay Shrivastava, Mohammad Imran.
