Asia Cup 2025: Match 7, United Arab Emirates vs Oman Match Preview

The United Arab Emirates lock horns with Oman in match No. 7 of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, September 14.
The UAE find themselves at the bottom of Group A after losing to India in their opening game by nine wickets. The hosts were bundled out for 57 before the defending champions chased the paltry target in just 4 overs.
Muhammad Waseem and Alishan Sharafu, the UAE openers, got their team off to a sedate start before the carnage started. Once again, the UAE's hopes will rest on their openers, specifically skipper Waseem, who likes to take the attack to the bowlers. If he can get going, the home side will invariably get to a solid score.
On the other hand, Oman started their Asia Cup campaign with a 93-run defeat to Pakistan. The Men in Green posted 160/7 in their 20 overs. In reply, Oman were bowled out for just 67 in 16.4 overs. The Jatinder Singh-led side will take hope from their bowling performance against Pakistan.
Shah Faisal and Aamir Kaleem bagged three wickets apiece for Oman. Mohammad Nadeem also bowled well, finishing with figures of 1/23 in three overs. They will look to replicate their bowling performances on Monday.
In the first three games at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi in the 2025 Asia Cup, the average first-innings score is around 157. Two out of the three games have been won by chasing teams. The captain who wins the toss will want to bowl first. The powerplay overs will be crucial for both sides.
Alishan Sharafu, Muhammad Waseem (C), Muhammad Zohaib, Rahul Chopra (WK), Asif Khan, Harshit Kaushik, Dhruv Parashar, Simranjeet Singh, Haider Ali, Junaid Siddique, Muhammad Rohid Khan.
Aamir Kaleem, Jatinder Singh (C), Hammad Mirza, Mohammad Nadeem, Sufyan Mehmood, Vinayak Shukla (WK), Zikria Islam, Shah Faisal, Shakeel Ahmed, Hassnain Shah, Samay Shrivastava.
