India secured their spot in the Asia Cup 2025 final with a clinical 41-run victory over Bangladesh in Dubai. A brilliant knock from Abhishek Sharma and an impressive performance by spinners sealed the result, ensuring India remains the most consistent team of the tournament.

Bangladesh, chasing their first-ever Asia Cup final berth, won the toss and opted to field after winning the toss. Meanwhile, India's innings was anchored by Abhishek Sharma’s knock as they posted 168/6.

Abhishek, coming off a big score against Pakistan, smashed 75 off 37 balls with six fours and five sixes against Bangladesh. His stand with Shubman Gill (29 off 19) powered India to 72 in the powerplay.

Gill fell attempting to go big off Rishad Hossain, and the promoted Shivam Dube didn’t last long. But Abhishek continued his form, reaching his fifty off 25 balls and taking India to 112/2 by the 11th over. His dismissal via a sharp piece of fielding from Rishad changed the momentum.

From there, India’s middle order collapsed. Captain Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Axar Patel couldn't contribute the way they would have liked. Hardik Pandya’s 38 off 29 at the back end ensured the Men in Blue closed at 168/6. For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain (2/27) was the pick of the bowlers, while Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Mustafizur Rahman, and Mohammad Saifuddin chipped in with important wickets.

Chasing 169, Bangladesh never got going against India’s attack. Jasprit Bumrah removed Tanzid Hasan in the second over. Kuldeep Yadav then dismissed Parvez Hossain Emon (21) and later ran through the lower order.

Saif Hassan played a fighting knock by scoring 69 off 51 balls with three fours and five sixes. He reached his fifty in 36 balls and looked the only batter capable of challenging India’s total. However, with wickets falling around him, including those of Shamim Hossain, Towhid Hridoy, and skipper Jaker Ali, Bangladesh's chances diminished.

Varun Chakravarthy (2/29) and Axar Patel (1/37) kept the pressure before Kuldeep’s twin strikes in the 17th over ended Bangladesh’s hopes. Bumrah returned to remove Saif in the 18th over with Bangladesh eventually bundling out for 127, losing their last five wickets for just 40 runs.
