India cruised through to a nine-wicket win with 93 balls to spare in Match 2 of Asia Cup 2025 against United Arab Emirates at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The run-chase lasted only 4.3 overs as UAE proved no match to a dominant Men in Blue outfit.
Only two batters from the UAE team, Alishan Sharafu (22 off 17) and Muhammad Waseem (19 off 22), registered double-digit scores. It was utter domination from the Suryakumar Yadav-led unit as Kuldeep Yadav starred with a four-wicket haul (4/7 in 2.1 overs) while Shivam Dube chipped in with three (3/4 in 2 overs).
Abhishek Sharma fell for a 16-ball 30 as the only wicket to fall for India while Shubman Gill (20* off 9) and skipper Suryakumar Yadav (7* off 2) remained unbeaten till the end. Each of the five bowlers employed by UAE conceded runs at a 10-plus economy rate.
India will next play Pakistan on Sunday, September 14, in a high-octane encounter. They will take immense confidence having clinched the match with second-most number of balls to spare by a full-member side in T20Is. UAE will take on Oman in Monday, September 15.
