Bangladesh have endured a mixed campaign in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, but currently find themselves in a stronger position. The Bangla Tigers won two of their three games in the group stage, defeating Hong Kong and Afghanistan, while suffering their only loss came against the might of the Sri Lanka side.
However, they produced an impressive response in the Super Fours stage, defeating the Lankan Lions in their second meeting by four wickets. The victory not only avenged their earlier loss but also boosted their chances of progressing further in the competition. As things stand, Bangladesh sit third on the Super Fours points table with two points to their name. With two matches still remaining in the continental tournament, the Tigers will be aiming to build on their momentum and secure a place in the final.
Teams aiming to qualify from the Super Four stage generally need at least two wins to boost their chances:
Bangladesh have a total of two games ahead of them. The fixtures are listed as follows:
They will finish as the table topper and will definitely take a spot in the final.
They are likely to finish in the top-two, if NRR stays above other teams, and might become a strong contender for the final.
Bangladesh cannot qualify and will be eliminated from Asia Cup 2025
Qualification Scenarios: How can Pakistan qualify for final?
Bangladesh need to win at least one more match with a healthy net run rate (NRR) to keep their qualification hopes alive. However, if they manage to win both remaining games, they will secure a place in the final.
