He and fellow opener Hassan (30) put on a solid 63-run partnership for the first wicket, laying a strong foundation for a big total during the powerplay. Their aggressive approach put pressure on the Afghanistan bowlers early on.

However, the momentum shifted dramatically after the first six overs. Afghanistan’s spin duo of Rashid and Noor Ahmad proved to be the difference-makers.
