Former attacking opener Virender Sehwag is confident of India's chances at the upcoming ACC Men's T20 Asia Cup 2025, where they will play under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav. Notably, Suryakumar was named captain in India's 15-member squad for the upcoming marquee event, which also includes the likes of Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill, and Jasprit Bumrah.
Sehwag said that the Indian roster travelling to the UAE for the upcoming continental event has a balance between seasoned campaigners and youngsters, who can form a deadly combination to beat any opposition in the world. The ex-Delhi batter further feels that the attacking and fearless captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav will help them dominate in the tournament, which is set to be played in the 20-over format this time round.
"This Indian team has the right mix of youth and experience, and under Surya's fearless leadership, they can dominate Asia once again. His attacking mindset suits the T20 format perfectly, and if the team plays with the same intent, I have no doubt India can lift the trophy," Sehwag said on Sony Sports Network.
