The Indian ODI squad is set to depart for Australia in separate batches on October 15 from Delhi. The logistics and ticket availability will determine the final travel schedule for the team.
As per sources closely linked with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the first group of players will leave in the morning while the remaining ones will take a flight on the same evening. This will also depend on the availability of business-class tickets for the travel. A source also provided information on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli's availability.
“Virat and Rohit will touch down in the capital either on the day of departure or a day prior,” stated the source as quoted by India Today.
The upcoming white-ball series will comprise three ODIs followed by five T20Is. The team will kickstart the series with the first ODI in Perth on Sunday, October 19. It is understood that if the ongoing domestic or international assignments are concluded earlier than the original schedule, then the players in the ODI squad could be allowed to travel to their homes before re-assembling in the national capital.
India are scheduled to take on West Indies in the second and final Test of the two-match series at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, with the match scheduled to get underway on Friday, October 10. The hosts won the series-opening clash by an innings and 140 runs in Ahmedabad.

For the unversed, head coach Gautam Gambhir has called over the entire squad for a team dinner at his residence in Rajinder Nagar in Delhi. This gesture comes with an aim to foster camaraderie and improve team bonding before the unit embarks on their white-ball tour.
