Wiaan Mulder suffered a dangerous fall while charging in for his bowling run-up during the second ODI between Australia and South Africa. South Africa continued their dominant run against Australia by clinching the second ODI and sealing an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. After choosing to bat first, their middle order shone once again as Matthew Breetzke struck his fourth consecutive half-century with a sensational knock of 88. He was well supported by Tristan Stubbs, who added 74. For the home side, Adam Zampa was the standout bowler with three wickets as South Africa were bowled out for 277 in 49.1 overs.

In reply, Australia’s top order crumbled once more. Travis Head fell cheaply for 6 and Marnus Labuschagne managed only 1. Josh Inglis put up a fight with a brilliant 87, but no other batter could find momentum, leading to a massive 84-run defeat. For the Proteas, it was the Lungi Ngidi show as the pacer claimed a superb five-wicket haul that dismantled Australia and secured the series win for his side.
