Bangladesh and Australia are set to meet in the first Test of their series at Marrara Cricket Ground in Darwin, beginning on August 13. The visitors head into the contest with plenty to work on after suffering a heavy defeat against a Cricket Australia XI in their warm-up match.

Bangladesh were bowled out for just 54 in their second innings, losing the game by an innings and 38 runs. Campbell Thompson claimed eight wickets in the second innings, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz had earlier scored a century to give Bangladesh some encouragement with the bat. The visitors will now face a much stronger Australian bowling attack featuring Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood.

The five-day forecast suggests mostly dry and sunny conditions throughout the Test, with only a minimal chance of rain. Temperatures are expected to remain around 31-33°C during the afternoon.

Uneven bounce and increasing turn could make batting more difficult in the later stages, particularly during the fourth innings.
