Bangladesh announce squads for T20Is vs Australia & one-off Test vs Zimbabwe
Bangladesh have announced their squads for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Australia on home soil and a one-off Test match in Zimbabwe, where they will be travelling for an all-format tour towards the end of June.
The Tigers have recalled the fast-bowling duo of Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana back into their T20 setup after being rested for their series against New Zealand earlier this year. Rana is currently in rich form, having taken a four-wicket haul against the Aussies in the first ODI in Mirpur. Bangladesh have already wrapped up the 50-over series, leading 2-0 with one game left.
Taskin, on the other hand, will be competing in his first T20I game for his national side since playing against the West Indies back in October 2025. The right-arm pacer, however, is a vital member of the squad, being the third-highest wicket-taker for the Tigers in the 20-over format with 106 scalps from 86 matches.
As far as the Test side is concerned, Bangladesh have called white-ball regular Towhid Hridoy to the side, which will travel to Zimbabwe. Hridoy, despite playing 52 ODIs and 59 T20Is, has never represented his country in the longest format of the game. Compared to his stellar white-ball record, the 25-year-old has played just 16 First-Class matches in his professional career, but does average a solid 44.68.
The three-match T20I series against Australia kicks off on Wednesday, June 17, three days after the conclusion of the ODI series against the defending world champions. Bangladesh will then travel to Africa on June 23, ahead of the one-off Test which commences on June 28.
