Bangladesh and West Indies will take on each other in the third ODI of the three-match series at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur. The scoreline stands at 1-1 with all to play for in the final match of the ODI leg.
Both matches of the series so far have been low-scoring affairs. The first match went in the favour of the hosts after they bowled out West Indies for 133 to register a 74-run win. Rishad Hossain was the star of the show with 26 (13) and 6/35.
In the second match, both teams finished at 213 each as the match was decided by a Super Over, with West Indies coming out on top by one run. Skipper Shai Hope was adjudged the Player of the Match award for his 53* off 67 in regulation time and 7* off 3 in the tie-breaker.
West Indies set record with all-spin attack vs Bangladesh
The black soil used in Mirpur has aided the spinners quite a bit in the past couple of matches. Batters are anticipated to find it difficult to score runs freely and will have to be cautious while batting. Another low-scoring contest could be on the cards.
Soumya Sarkar had been on a rich diet of T20Is up until the ODIs against West Indies. Although Sarkar fell for just four in the first match, he made up with a fighting 45 in the second one. Sarkar could be expected to carry forward the momentum.
Rishad Hossain registered career-best ODI figures (6/35) in the first match and ended up with a vital 3/42 in the second . He has definitely been the pick of the bowlers across both teams and could be expected to put in another match-defining performance.
