BBL 2025-26: Match 4, SIX vs STR Match Prediction – Who will win today’s BBL match between Sydney Sixers vs Adelaide Strikers?

Sydney Sixers (SIX) will take on Adelaide Strikers (STR) in Match 4 of the ongoing BBL 2025-26 (Big Bash League) season, at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) in Sydney, on Wednesday, December 17. The upcoming game will be the very first of the season for the Adelaide-based team.
The Ashton Turner-led Sixers played the season opener against the Perth Scorchers and suffered a five-wicket defeat. Asked to bat first, the Sydney-based team was restricted to 113/5 in a rain-curtailed game, with the innings reduced to 11 overs each. Jack Edwards made the highest contribution with the bat, scoring 46 off 21. In the run chase, the talented Cooper Connolly showcased his batting brilliance, playing a stellar knock of 59 runs off just 31 balls to take his team over the line and secure the valuable two points.
Meanwhile, in the previous edition of the tournament, the Adelaide Strikers had a forgettable campaign, finishing at the bottom of the table. However, with this being their first clash of the latest season, they would look to put the past performance behind them and come in fresh for this game.
The ball generally comes nicely onto the bat, allowing batters to play their shots with freedom. However, fast bowlers will need to put in considerable effort to extract movement and pick up wickets. As the match progresses, the spinners are likely to come into play, with the surface offering them some assistance, especially if they maintain disciplined lines and lengths.
Babar Azam, Daniel Hughes, Josh Philippe(w), Moises Henriques(c), Lachlan Shaw, Jack Edwards, Ben Dwarshuis, Joel Davies, Charles Stobo, Mitchell Perry, Todd Murphy
Matt Short, Jason Sangha, Chris Lynn, Alex Ross, Liam Scott, Jamie Overton, Harry Nielsen (wk), Hassan Ali, Henry Thornton, Luke Wood, Lloyd Pope
Adelaide's powerful opener, Chris Lynn, could be the best batter in the game against the Sydney Sixers. With a vast expericne playing the shortest format, Lynn is expected to give him a solid start. Last year, he scored 230 runs in seven innings at an average of 32.85 and a strike rate of 165.46. If his bat does the most talking, Adelaide will be in a comfortable spot.
Sydney Sixers' Ben Dwarshuis could be the best bowler in the upcoming clash against Adelaide Strikers. In the team's opening clash, he bagged two wickets, but his team ended on the losing end. However, the pacer will be confident with his individual performance and look to build on that in this contest.
