New Zealand have called up left-arm seamer Ben Lister for the white-ball series against Bangladesh as a replacement for all-rounder Kristian Clakre, who is set to miss the series through a hand injury.
Clarke suffered a laceration to the webbing of his right hand while attempting a catch during a New Zealand A's one-day match against Sri Lanka A earlier in the week.
Lister was also part of the New Zealand A squad against Sri Lanka. He is expected to join the team on April 12, before they travel to Bangladesh on April 13, and kick off their series with the first ODI on April 17. Lister’s last international appearance came two years ago, in April 2024.
Meanwhile, seamer Ben Sears will miss the ODI leg of the series as he was signed as a late replacement player by new franchise Rawalpindiz in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). He is set to join the squad for the T20 series on April 30. New Zealand has not named a replacement for Sears.
This series also sees the returns of seamers Will O’Rourke, Matthew Fisher, and Blair Tickner to the squad. O’Rourke returns after a back injury, while Fisher and Tickner are returning after shin and ankle injuries, respectively.
The matches in this series are set to start earlier, due to energy conservation measures undertaken by the Bangladesh Government amid the Middle East crisis.
The series gets underway on April 17 with the first ODI, and is set to culminate on May 2, with the third and final T20I.
