Opting to bat first after winning the toss, the Warriors got off to a steady start with Amy Hunter (34 off 26) playing positively at the top. However, the real anchor of the innings was Realeanna Grimmond, who compiled a measured 61 off 57 balls with six boundaries and a six. Her knock kept the scoreboard ticking and allowed others to play freely around her.

Skipper Stafanie Taylor contributed 15 before departing, while Laura Harris provided the late fireworks, smashing 26 off just 7 deliveries, including three towering sixes. Her cameo propelled Guyana to a strong finish at 154/4 in 20 overs.

For the Royals, Aaliyah Alleyne (2/27) was the standout bowler, striking twice at crucial moments. Sheneta Grimmond (1/19) and Shamilia Connell (1/26) also chipped in with timely breakthroughs, while the rest of the attack struggled to contain the flow of runs, particularly during Harris’s late onslaught.

Chasing 155 for victory, Barbados Royals got off to a controlled start, with Chamari Athapaththu (29 off 24) and Qiana Joseph (22 off 22) putting on a useful stand. Their stroke play ensured the Royals maintained the required rate in the powerplay.

Middle-order batter Georgia Redmayne kept the chase steady with a well-paced 33 off 29 deliveries, while Courtney Webb fell cheaply for 6. Just as the game looked evenly poised, rain interrupted proceedings, bringing the DLS equation into play.

When play resumed, Barbados Royals required a brisk push, and it was Henry who rose to the occasion. Displaying her power-hitting prowess, Henry blasted 37 off just 19 balls, striking 2 fours and 4 sixes. Her calculated aggression turned the tide firmly in the Royals’ favour. Henry’s knock ensured that the Royals crossed the adjusted target with overs to spare, finishing at 140/3 in 17.2 overs.

While the Warriors bowlers toiled, Ashmini Munisar impressed with 2/24 from her four overs, keeping the pressure on through the middle phase. Laura Harris (1/30) provided a late breakthrough, but the lack of wickets at regular intervals allowed the Royals to dictate terms.

For her match-winning innings, Henry was named Player of the Match. Her explosive batting not only accelerated the chase but also ensured Barbados Royals Women marked their campaign with a confident victory.
