Barbados Royals (BR) square off against Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) in match No. 28 of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, on Saturday, September 13.
Rovman Powell-led Royals are languishing at the foot of the table, with just one win and six defeats from eight matches. One of their games ended without a result. The Royals lost their most recent clash against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots by one run.
Meanwhile, Trinbago Knight Riders have already booked themselves a place in the playoffs. The Nicholas Pooran-led side has won six matches and lost just three. However, they are winless in their last two matches. Against the Royals in Trinidad, TKR won by seven wickets earlier this season.
Four games have been played so far at the Kensington Oval in CPL 2025. The average first-innings score is around 173. Two games have been won by chasing teams, while teams batting first have emerged victorious twice. A lot of runs are there for the taking if teams can bat well in the powerplay.
Quinton de Kock (WK), Brandon King, Kadeem Alleyne, Rassie van der Dussen, Sherfane Rutherford, Rovman Powell (C), Chris Green, Daniel Sams, Eathan Bosch, Jomel Warrican, Ramon Simmonds.
Colin Munro, Alex Hales, Keacy Carty, Nicholas Pooran (C & WK), DM Bravo, Kieron Pollard, Andre Russell, Akeal Hosein, Sunil Narine, Nathan Edwards, Usman Tariq.
Colin Munro has been dismissed cheaply in the last three games but he continues to find himself among the top run-getters in the tournament. In nine innings, the New Zealand star has amassed 369 runs at an average of 41 and a strike rate of 170.83.
Sunil Narine has only picked up six wickets in nine matches, but he has been very economical so far in the competition. In CPL 2025, he has an exemplary economy rate of 5.75. Narine will be the bowler to watch out for on Saturday.
