CSK vs DC: IPL 2026 Records and Stats at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai

The Chennai Super Kings take on the Delhi Capitals (DC) in Match 18 of the 2026 Indian Premier League on April 11 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
The Super Kings return home winless in their first three games and will be looking to get off the mark in the 2026 season. This is their second home game, the first being the convincing five-wicket loss to the Punjab Kings on April 3 despite posting a competitive total of 209 on the board.
The Delhi Capitals, who won their first two games against Lucknow Super Giants and Mumbai Indians, lost their most recent game against the Gujarat Titans by just one run in dramatic fashion. They will be looking to bounce back after the narrow loss in a game which they were in control of for the most part.
The two sides met once in 2025, at the Chepauk, when Delhi Capitals prevailed by 25 runs.
Chepauk was renowned as a paradise for spinners, as the red-soil surface offered grip and turn, which meant teams packed their sides with spinners when playing at the venue. That era is gone, with flatter pitches dished out in the last few years.
Dew is also a prominent factor due to the venue's proximity with the sea. In the previous game, CSK scored 209/5, and Punjab chased it down quite comfortably, highlighting the batting-friendly nature of the wicket.
The Capitals come into this clash boasting one of the more balanced bowling attacks in the tournament, capable of performing in both high- and low-scoring games. With the frailties shown by the CSK in both batting and bowling departments, the Capitals would be hopeful of their chances.
South Africa’s Dewald Brevis is expected to make his return in this game, and his addition will bolster CSK’s batting lineup, adding more depth and power in the middle-order. With CSK's right-hander-heavy batting lineup, DC skipper and left-arm spinner Axar Patel is expected to play a significant role with the ball.
