CSK vs SRH: IPL 2026 Records and Stats at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) host the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 63 of the Indian Premier League 2026 on May 18 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
CSK are placed with 12 points in 12 games, and have a slim chance of making the playoffs, provided they pick up wins in their final two games. They play their final home game of the season at the Chepauk and will be hoping to give their faithful something to cheer for. They are coming off a loss against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium on May 15.
SRH return to action after their 82-run loss to the Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. Chasing a total of 168, they were bowled out for a paltry 86. They have 14 points in 12 games, and a win at the Chepauk could boost their playoff chances, if not seal their spot.
The Chepauk has been famed as a spinners' paradise, but over the years, the wicket has become much better and consistent for batting. The ball comes onto the bat much more smoothly, which makes run scoring much easier. Despite this, bowlers get significant help in the form of lateral movement in the air and off the surface. The wicket favours hit-the-deck bowling, and spinners get enough grip and turn to keep them involved in the game.
The biggest talking point ahead of the game is whether the veteran MS Dhoni will finally take the field in IPL 2026. The five-time IPL-winning skipper has yet to play a single match this season, owing to a calf injury. The Chepauk faithful will be hopeful of finally getting a glimpse of their star man before the end of the season.
The two teams have met 23 times in the IPL, with the Super Kings holding a 15-8 lead over the Sunrisers. The clash will see both teams looking to claim two points to solidify their playoff chances, albeit in different circumstances. The five-time champions need two wins from their final two games, and a loss in any would almost mean curtains on their campaign. The Sunrisers would just need a solitary win from their two games, but winning both could help them solidify a spot in the top two.
