"Do not make such statements that no one understands" - Manoj Tiwary slams Riyan Parag after MI vs RR clash

Manoj Tiwary called out Riyan Parag for some of his remarks during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. The Assam batter led the Rajasthan Royals (RR) to the playoffs after the inaugural champions defeated the Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium in a must-win game on Sunday, May 24.
After the monumental win, Parag said that he is struggling with an injury and wasn't supposed to play the match, but his mental toughness helped him get onto the field.
"I am definitely not fit, I was not supposed to play tonight and not play another game as well but it was all mental toughness. Jofra is hard as a rock, Jaddu bhai has got a couple of niggles but he has got the sword and he should be fine," the captain said during the post-match presentation.
He missed the last game due to a recurring hamstring injury, as Yashasvi Jaiswal took charge against the Lucknow Super Giants.
Tiwary questioned the reason why Parag spoke about his injury and his mental toughness. The cricketer-turned-expert also mentioned a few more remarks from Parag which confused him during IPL 2026.
"I could not understand what he was trying to say through that statement. Saying that he was injured, and he played through mental toughness, and even before this, he said that Ravindra Jadeja is being rested due to workload management, then the fielding coach is saying something else, so there are a lot of things here. He can be happy that he has taken the team to the playoffs as a captain. So, enjoy, but while enjoying it, do not make such statements that no one understands," he said on Cricbuzz.
The Royals will face the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur on Wednesday, May 27. Sunrisers will head into the match as the favourites, having defeated the Royals in two meetings this season.
