The fourth match of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2026 will see Dambulla Sixers (DS) take on Jaffna Kings (JK) at the Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo, on Saturday, July 18. Jaffna Kings will be eager to bounce back after suffering a 36-run defeat against Galle Gallants (GG) in the tournament opener. Despite promising contributions from Dunith Wellalage, Avishka Fernando and Kamil Mishara, the Kings failed to chase down a target of 214. Led by Bhanuka Rajapaksa, they will be aiming to register their first points of the season.
Meanwhile, Dambulla Sixers will begin their campaign under the leadership of Dinesh Chandimal. The squad features a healthy blend of international stars and experienced Sri Lankan players, with Reeza Hendricks, Sahibzada Farhan, Niroshan Dickwella, Gulbadin Naib and Maheesh Theekshana expected to play key roles. They will hope to make a strong start after finishing at the bottom of the points table in the previous edition.

The pitch at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo is expected to offer a balanced contest between bat and ball. The new ball is likely to provide some movement and carry for the fast bowlers, making the opening few overs challenging for the batters. Once the initial swing fades, stroke-making becomes easier as the ball comes nicely onto the bat, allowing set batters to capitalize during the middle overs.
As the innings progresses, the surface is expected to slow down, bringing the spinners into the game with some grip and turn. Bowlers who vary their pace and hit consistent lengths are likely to enjoy success, particularly in the second half of the innings. A first-innings score in the region of 170-180 should be competitive, and the captain winning the toss may prefer to bowl first, considering the possibility of dew making batting easier later in the evening.
