ENG vs IND 2025: Virat Kohli would have chased down the target comfortably at Lord's - Steve Harmison

Steve Harmison said that India has scored more centuries, more top-order runs, and taken more wickets with the new ball. However, England have come out with the wins as the Ben Stokes-led side is leading 2-1 in the five-match series with two games left to play.
In the third Test, India had a great chance of going 2-1 up as they had to chase down a 193-run target in the fourth innings at the Lord's Cricket Ground. However, the batters faltered as India were bundled out for 170.
Former England pacer Harmison believes that the legendary Virat Kohli would have helped India chase down the target comfortably in the fourth innings.
"India has scored more hundreds, more top-order runs, and more new ball wickets, but England has got a knack of finding a way to win. Finding a way of creating an event throughout a session to change the course of the game. For me, India has to start believing. This is where the likes of Virat Kohli were unbelievable. In a fourth innings chase, he goes and wins the game comfortably. He would have won that game comfortably at Lord's," Harmison said in ESPNcricinfo Match Day.
Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant are the top-two run-getters in the five-match series so far. On the other hand, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah are among the leading wicket-takers. The relatively inexperienced Indian team has fared relatively well and dominated most of the days in the series but they find themselves down 1-2.
The fourth Test is set to take place at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester, starting on Wednesday, July 23. India need to win this clash to remain in contention for winning the series. India's overall record at the iconic Old Trafford has been quite abysmal, as they are winless in nine Tests (four losses and five draws). However, they wouldn't read too much into past records, especially after beating England at Edgbaston for the first time in Test cricket earlier during the series.
