ENG vs IND 2026: 3rd T20I Match Preview
After the opening T20I was washed out and England edged India by four wickets in a thrilling second encounter at Old Trafford, the visitors will be eager to bounce back and level the five-match series when the two sides meet in the third T20I on Tuesday, July 7, at Trent Bridge in Nottingham.
India posted a competitive 190/7 in Manchester after a solid effort with the bat, but the bowlers were unable to defend the total as England chased it down with an over to spare. While Abhishek Sharma has looked in good touch at the top of the order, India will be hoping for more substantial contributions from Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Ishan Kishan, and vice-captain Tilak Varma, all of whom have struggled to make a significant impact in the series so far.
England, on the other hand, will head into the Nottingham clash high on confidence after taking a 1-0 lead in the series. Their batting unit showed composure under pressure in the chase, while the bowlers once again managed to keep India from running away with the game despite a strong start from the visitors.
The pitch at Trent Bridge, Nottingham, is one of the most batting-friendly wickets in England. The surface at the venue has true bounce, making it easier for batters to score runs freely. The stadium has hosted 16 T20 matches so far, with teams batting first emerging victorious on 10 occasions, suggesting that the captains might prefer to bat first in this match.
Phil Salt, Jos Buttler, Harry Brook (C), Jacob Bethell, Tom Banton, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Liam Dawson, Adil Rashid, Jofra Archer, Josh Tongue.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan(w), Shreyas Iyer(c), Tilak Varma, Shivam Dube, Harshit Rana, Axar Patel, Prince Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Varun Chakaravarthy
