ENG vs SA 2025: England vs South Africa 3rd T20I Match Preview

England (ENG) will take on South Africa (SA) in the third T20I, also the final game of the series on Sunday, September 14, at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. With the competition locked at 1-1, both teams will be eager to deliver in the decider and make the series theirs.
After facing a defeat in the opener, England bounced back in style in the second T20I, registering a record-breaking win. Their batting unit produced the highest total in T20Is between full-member nations, powering them to a massive victory. With that performance, the hosts will look to carry the same momentum into the final clash and seal the series in commanding fashion.
On the other hand, South Africa had a contrasting outing on Friday. After a strong start with victory in the opening game, they suffered a crushing 146-run defeat in the second match, their heaviest loss by margin of runs in T20Is. The Proteas will be determined to put that behind them, regroup quickly, and emulate their success from the ODI series by clinching the decider.
The Trent Bridge surface is traditionally regarded as a batting paradise. With its flat nature and consistent bounce and carry, it strongly favours aggressive stroke-makers, particularly in the first innings. Seamers can find some movement early on, but spinners generally struggle to make an impact due to the shorter square boundaries. In the second innings, the pitch tends to slow down slightly, bringing variations and change of pace into play.
Philip Salt, Jos Buttler (wk), Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook (c), Tom Banton, Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Liam Dawson, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Luke Wood
Aiden Markram (c), Ryan Rickelton (wk), Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Dewald Brevis, Tristan Stubbs, Donovan Ferreira, Marco Jansen, Kagiso Rabada, Bjorn Fortuin, Kwena Maphaka, Lizaad Williams
