England’s batting woes continued as they were bundled out for just 131 runs in 24.3 overs, with Smith being the only resistance, scoring a gritty 54 runs. South Africa’s Keshav Maharaj was the chief destroyer, claiming 4/22 with his disciplined spin.

In reply, South Africa made light work of the chase, cruising to 137/3 in just 20.5 overs. Markram spearheaded the run chase with a blistering 86 off 55 balls, before Smith’s stunner cut short his innings. Rashid offered brief resistance with 3/26, but South Africa’s dominance was undeniable.
