ENG W vs IND W 2026: Only Test match preview
While every match held at the Lord's Cricket Ground in London is iconic, the One-off Test between England Women (ENG W) and India Women (IND W), which gets underway on Friday, July 10, is set to create history as the first-ever women's red-ball international match at the home of cricket.
England's most recent Test encounter happened when they met Australia during the previous Women's Ashes, losing by an innings and 122 runs. However, they will be determined to make a mark this time round, since they will be eyeing a return to form with a win against the Indian team in the upcoming contest.
India Women, on the other hand, also faced Australia in their last fixture in the four-day format. The Aussies had won that match by ten wickets. However, the Women in Blue are in good form in Test cricket, with three wins and only one loss in their five preceding matches. Harmanpreet Kaur will be looking to bag another win for her side in the prestigious fixture.
Since this will be the first women's Test held at the venue, there is zero to little record of what nature the pitch will unfold at the venue in the upcoming contest. However, in the most recent men's Test at the venue, England beat New Zealand by a handsome margin while batting first. It will become extremely challenging to bat in the fourth innings here, and thus, asking the opposition to bowl first after winning the toss seems like an ideal choice.
