ENG-W vs WI-W, 2025, 3rd ODI Review: Sarah Glenn, Nat Sciver-Brunt star as England whitewash West Indies

The West Indies remained winless on their tour of England as they were handed a nine-wicket defeat by the home side in the third and final ODI at The Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton on Saturday, June 8.
Having already lost the series by suffering defeats in the first two ODIs, the West Indies would have wanted a win on Saturday to salvage some pride. They continued to miss the services of regular captain Hayley Matthews, who was ruled out due to a shoulder injury.
The game was reduced to a 21-over per side contest due to rain. Nat Sciver-Brunt won the toss and opted to field first. Realeanna Grimmond and Zaida James were dismissed without scoring, while Stafanie Taylor contributed just one run.
The Caribbean side was in a spot of bother, having lost three wickets for four runs inside the first four overs. Stand-in skipper Shemaine Campbelle tried to resurrect the sinking ship in association with Qiana Joseph. However, the former departed for a 35-ball 18 in the 13th over. From 43/3, the West Indies slumped to 58/6, and it seemed that they would fail to get past the 100-run mark.
Joseph departed after scoring a valiant 34 off 44 balls. Aaliyah Alleyne threw her bat around and aggregated 27 runs off just 18 balls, taking the visitors to 106/8 in 21 overs. Sarah Glenn was the pick of the bowlers, bagging three wickets for 21 runs in four overs. Meanwhile, Em Arlott chipped in with figures of 2/15 whereas Kate Cross, Lauren Filer, and Charlie Dean picked up a wicket apiece.
In reply, England got off to a flying start as Sophia Dunkley and Sciver-Brunt took the attack to the West Indies bowlers. Karishma Ramharack dismissed the former for a 21-ball 26 in the sixth over. This turned out to be the only wicket West Indies managed to take in the lopsided clash.
Sciver-Brunt remained unbeaten on 57 off 33 balls, belting nine boundaries. Meanwhile, Alice Capsey finished on 20 not out off 11 deliveries as England reached home in 10.5 overs with nine wickets in the hut.
