England vs India Prediction, 3rd ODI – Who will win today’s match between ENG vs IND?

England (ENG) will be hosting India (IND) in the third One-Day International on Sunday, July 19, at Lord's Cricket Ground in London. The hosts won the second ODI to level the series at 1-1.

India were put into bat and bundled out for 233 at the Sophia Gardens, suffering a significant collapse from a settled position of 178 for 3. Virat Kohli (65 off 66) and Shreyas Iyer (66 off 71) were the standout batters before Jofra Archer, Saqib Mahmood and Gus Atkinson picked up the final seven wickets among them for just 55 runs.

The Three Lions' chase was anchored brilliantly by Joe Root (99* off 133), who stitched vital partnerships with Harry Brook, Sam Curran, Will Jacks and Gus Atkinson. They sealed the victory with four wickets in hand and 5.5 overs to spare, taking the series to a decider at the 'Home of Cricket'

The pitch at Lord's has come under much scrutiny of late for heavily favouring the bowling teams. Despite this, the wicket is expected to possess consistent bounce and carry. Seam bowlers get help in the form of early lateral movement, with the infamous 'Lord's Slope' aiding the movement angles of the bowlers. The straight boundaries are comparatively longer than the square boundaries, with the slope further affecting how the ball moves across the outfield. The captain who wins the toss would want to bowl first and let the bowlers use any moisture that can be there on the surface.

Ben Duckett, Jacob Bethell, Joe Root, Harry Brook (C), Jos Buttler (WK), Sam Curran, Will Jacks, Gus Atkinson, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Saqib Mahmood.

Shubman Gill (C), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (WK), Axar Patel, Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Gurnoor Brar, Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna.

England's talisman, Joe Root, pulled off yet another rescue act for the Three Lions in Cardiff with an unbeaten 99 to take the team home. He is yet to be dismissed in his past three ODI innings, stretching back to the series against Sri Lanka. He has scored 175 runs in two innings and will be looking to pile on more misery onto the Indian side.

The ever-reliable maverick, Jasprit Bumrah, has been one of India's most threatening bowlers in the series. Despite just picking up a wicket apiece in both games, his accuracy and skill have made him a difficult customer to face. He will be looking to finish off the series on a high note.
