'Even if there is 0.001 per cent chance' - Mohammad Rizwan gives motivational speech during PSL to boost Rawalpindiz morale

Amid tough times for the newest franchise, Rawalpindi Pindiz in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026, skipper Mohammad Rizwan has given a morale-boosting speech. The Pindiz are on the brink of an early exit from the tournament, having lost all the four games that they have played so far, leaving them only an outside chance of making it to the playoffs.
However, Rizwan has shared an anecdote from his time as Multan Sultans captain when they won their first PSL title, saying how the franchise had overcome a similar situation of having lost their first four matches and then making a comeback to win all of their next games, including the Qualifier and the Final, to eventually win the PSL title. Rizwan wants his Pindiz teammates to keep a similar mindset, even if the chances to win are the least.
"Champions think they will be in the final as long as there is even a 0.001 per cent chance. Keeping hope that they will win in the final, God willing. I'll tell you one story: when the Multan Sultans (Rizwan's former PSL franchise) had become champions, they had lost four out of as many games at the start. And we started the fifth game that if they lost, they would have been out of the competition. God helped them win all the next games. They won the qualifier, then they won the final and became the champions," Rizwan said.

"So don't put your heads down even if there is a one per cent chance of winning. We will keep putting up a fight. It is not a problem if we lose. If we fight like champions and still lose, its not an issue. No one has to sit in their room because they had a bad performance. We'll go for an outing together, have fun outside cricket as well. Okay guys? Thank you," the Pindiz skipper motivated.
The Pindiz will play their remaining five league stage games in PSL 2026 with the only intention of not letting their feet slip even one bit since the scope for making it through to the playoffs will eventually diminish. It will be intriguing to see if Pindiz will be able to surprise everyone with an awe-inspiring comeback in their maiden go in the 20-over tournament.
