Father reclaims lost police job after Kranti Goud helps India win the Women's World Cup 2025

India Women's pacer Kranti Goud, who played a part in her side's Women's World Cup 2025 triumph, has helped her father reclaim his police posting in the state of Madhya Pradesh, the job from which he had been dismissed back in 2012. Kranti picked up nine wickets in eight matches while possessing an economy rate of 5.73, and this has led to the authorities welcoming him to the position.

During a recent felicitation programme, Madhya Pradesh's Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reassured her that her father will have his job back. During the same event, Kranti spoke on how one should never give up even under the most adverse circumstances.

"If you ever feel like giving up, think about your dreams. At times, we only had one meal a day. Even then, I didn't give up. Today, I have brought honour to my family and Bundelkhand. I am very happy," stated Kranti while recounting the troubling days of the past, as quoted by India Today.

Kranti's parents and coach were also in attendance. For the unversed, Kranti's father Munna Singh Gaud used to have a job in the police department as a police constable. However, he unfortunately lost his job after being dismissed in 2012. This led to the family undergoing a lot of turmoil on the financial front.

During the ceremony, Yadav and Madhya Pradesh Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang also felicitated Goud's parents and coach. The state government also announced a cash prize of INR 1 crore for the Chhindwara-born, rewarding her for valuable contributions in the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side lifting their maiden ICC title.

A stadium with top-tier facilities was promised to be constructed in Chhatarpur in a bid to train and enhance the nurturing of local athletes to excel to greater heights. At the conclusion of the event, Yadav announced that Kranti will be honoured once again at a major event to be held in Jabalpur on November 15 to mark the birth anniversary of tribal icon and freedom fighter Birsa Munda.

Having made her international debut in 2025 itself, Kranti has played 15 ODIs and one T20I for India up until now. She will next be anticipated to play for the national setup during the all-format tour of Australia in January 2026.
