Glamorous diva Poonam Pandey showers praise on Vaibhav Suryavanshi; reveals her favourite Indian cricketer

In a surprising crossover of glamour and cricket, popular actress and internet personality Poonam Pandey has heaped praise on 14-year-old cricket prodigy Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Known for her bold persona and candid opinions, Poonam expressed her admiration for the young Rajasthan Royals batter who has taken the IPL 2025 by storm. Vaibhav, at just 14, has stunned the cricketing world with his explosive batting. Despite playing only seven matches this season, the teenager smashed 24 sixes and currently ranks seventh in the list of most sixes hit in IPL 2025. His fearless approach, calm composure, and match-winning performances earned him the Player of the Match award—making him the youngest ever to receive the honour in IPL history.

Adding to his growing list of achievements, Vaibhav is also the youngest player to notch a century in the tournament, showcasing a rare blend of maturity and raw talent that has left fans and experts in awe.

In a recent interaction, Poonam shared her astonishment at the young cricketer’s performance. While admitting that she hasn’t followed the IPL very closely this season, she couldn’t stop herself from appreciating Vaibhav’s fearless hitting. Although a Mumbaikar by origin and naturally inclined to support the Mumbai franchise, Poonam acknowledged the impact Vaibhav has had, despite representing Rajasthan Royals.

“Since I am from Mumbai, I will support Mumbai, but honestly, I am not watching IPL…. I mean not fully. Yes…. But I saw that amazing boy, 14 years old…What a six he is hitting, what a six he was hitting. I mean looking at him… such a cute face, such a lovely face,” said Poonam on Filmygyan.

Amidst her glowing remarks for Vaibhav, Poonam also revealed the cricketer who continues to hold a special place in her heart. Poonam picked global superstara Virat Kohli as her favourite Indian cricketer.

“My most, most favourite Indian cricketer is Virat. He has just retired from Tests, but he will always be my number one,” added Poonam.
