GSL 2026: Qualifier 1, SFU vs DV Match Prediction – Who will win today’s GSL match between San Francisco Unicorns vs Desert Vipers?
The Desert Vipers (DV) take on the San Francisco Unicorns (SFU) in Qualifier 1 of the 2026 Global Super League at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Friday, July 31. The winner of the tie will go on to face the hosts, the Guyana Amazon Warriors, in the showpiece final of this invitational tournament.
The Vipers come into the game on the back of a nervy one-wicket victory over the Perth Scorchers XI to book their place in the Qualifier. The Major League Cricket side, on the other hand, defeated the Lahore Qalandars by seven wickets to pip the Pakistani outfit into the last three.
Both Desert Vipers and the San Francisco Unicorns ended the group stage with four points from as many matches, with two wins under their belt.
Unlike any typical T20 wicket, the Providence Stadium in Guyana offers slightly different conditions. Over the course of the Global Super League 2026, the pitch at the venue has played slowly, making run-scoring a little difficult for batters. The slower bowlers and spinners are often the match-winners, as proven in the competition.
Tim Robinson, Connor Esterhuizen (WK), Sanjay Krishnamurthi, Oliver Peake, Hassan Khan (C), Hammad Azam, Fabian Allen, Anirudh Immanuel, Callum Stow, Karima Gore, Peter Siddle
Saiteja Mukkamalla, Zachary Carter, Rilee Rossouw, Shadab Khan (C), Kyle Mayers, Bevon Jacobs, Vriitya Aravind (WK), Nathan Smith, Khary Pierre, Vitel Lawes, Sanjay Pahal
The San Francisco Unicorns have played four matches in the tournament, and Hammad Azam is yet to be dismissed. The 35-year-old is currently the second-highest run-scorer of the tournament, having hit 164 runs at a strike-rate of 142.60 with two half-centuries to his name.
Desert Vipers captain Shadab Khan is currently the 2026 Global Super League's leading wicket-taker. The Pakistan international has picked up eight wickets from four matches at an economy rate of just 6.00.
