Gujarat Giants WPL 2026 retention list: Full list of retained players

The Gujarat Giants Women (GG-W) have revealed their list of the players they have retained ahead of the Women's Premier League 2026, as the auctions are not too far away. The franchise has had disappointing campaigns so far, despite having a really fiery line-up in all the three seasons that they have played thus far.

As a result, the Gujarat-based side has mostly stemmed their approach and are now revamping their squad, but have also kept faith in two brilliant Australian cricketers. The likes of Ashleigh Gardner and Beth Mooney are the only couple of names that have been retained by Gujarat Giants ahead of the WPL 2026, even when they had the option to keep up to five.

To explain further, each WPL franchise is allowed to retain a maximum of five players. Out of these five names, a maximum of two can be overseas internationals. If the team opts to utilize all the available five retention options, then at least one player will need to be an uncapped Indian player, and should be paid a minimum of INR 50 lakh. Up to three Indian players can be picked.

This means that star players like Harleen Deol and Deandra Dottin will have to hope that they find takers at the auction table, with the WPL 2026 auction set to be held on November 27 in New Delhi. The star left-handed opening batter Phoebe Litchfield, too, has been let go by the franchise that is yet to find glory in the marquee women's 20-over competition.
