Hardik Pandya publicly praised girlfriend Mahieka Sharma for support during injury recovery after India’s thumping win over South Africa in the T20I series opener at Cuttack. The all-rounder credited her as a key pillar in his mental resilience during tough times.

Hardik opened up about the emotional toll of injuries, highlighting how they challenge mental strength and breed self-doubt. He gave special thanks to his partner Mahieka, calling her presence transformative since she entered his life. Pandya emphasized her role alongside other loved ones in helping him overcome obstacles and achieve recent successes.

“Injuries are very… it tests you mentally as well and at the same point of time it kind of puts a lot of doubts. A lot of credit goes to the loved ones which I had. Special mention to my partner as well. She’s been nothing but best to me since she has entered my life and a lot of great things have happened since she has arrived,” said Hardik in the post-match presentation.

The Indian star stressed his commitment to authenticity, avoiding pretense in personal and professional spheres. Pandya noted that focusing on inner conviction, rather than external opinions, has fuelled his revival. Now fully focused on cricket, he aims to savour every moment on the field with a positive approach moving forward.

“I think I’ve been a very honest and very real person in life as well, which has helped me a lot. I don’t really sugarcoat a lot in my life. It’s never about the other person, it’s never about how others think or how others perceive. It is always about how I feel inside,” added Pandya.

Post-match, Mahieka shared multiple photos of Pandya in action during the first T20I against South Africa on her Instagram. She affectionately dubbed him “king” and “my hero,” captioning the post with “guess who is back.” The gesture underscored their strong bond amid his return to form.
