Harsha Bhogle and Vikram Solanki were having a routine conversation during the Lucknow Super Giants' clash against the Gujarat Titans at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium on Sunday, April 12, but the latter made a remark which has left the fans stunned.
During the Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, someone from the support staff talking to the commentators between overs is a common occurence. In the first innings, when Lucknow were batting, Gujarat Titans' Director of Cricket Vikram Solanki was the one talking to the commentatos. This was in the ninth over of the encounter.
After some cricketing questions, Bhogle asked Solanki about a rumoured 50th birthday he celebrated. The veteran commentator went on to compliment the former England batter for his youthful appearance. However, Solanki reacted sharply to this and urged Bhogle to keep his questions regarding the sport and the players who are on the field.
“I’ll tell you what, Harsha, you’re having a couple of opportunities to raise a few points on my behalf. How about we stick to the cricket and talk about the guys who are out there?” he said. Bhogle responded in good spirit, saying, “We will indeed. Thanks for joining us, Vikram.”
