Star India cricketer Virat Kohli continued his sublime form with the bat by getting to his 53rd century in the format during the second ODI of the three-match series against South Africa. Kohli had already got off to a positive start with the bat, scoring a 120-ball 135-run knock against the Proteas in the series-opening clash.
For the unversed, this is not the first instance of the former India captain scoring two or more consecutive tons in the 50-over format. Prior to the 135 off 120 (first ODI) and 102 off 93 (second ODI), there have previously been 11 different streaks of tons in two (or more) consecutive ODI innings. The next-most for anyone in ODIs is by AB de Villiers (six).
