'I answer with my bat' - Vaibhav Sooryavanshi spills the beans on perfect revenge against Praful Hinge

Praful Hinge started his career in the Indian Premier League with a bang, as he sent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi packing for a golden duck. The euphoric moment occurred during the first meeting between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2026 season. Hinge said famously after the match that he had planned to get the better of Sooryavanshi by bowling a beamer at him.
However, the reverse fixture saw Sooryavanshi take the perfect revenge, smashing Hinge for four sixes on the trot.
“I had told people I would bowl a bouncer to him and get him out first ball. I just wanted to dismiss him from my first delivery. Varun [Aaron – SRH bowling coach] bhai, our bowling coach, helped me plan it, so thank you," Hinge had revealed.
Opening up on the moment during a chat alongside manager Romy Bhinder, Sooryavanshi revealed that the messages on social media after his golden duck in the earlier fixture affected him badly, but he did not lose confidence. Instead, the 15-year-old showed great maturity to fix the issue and silenced all the critics in the best manner possible, scoring a 37-ball 103 against the same opposition on Saturday, April 25.
“I went in with a clear plan against that bowler [Hinge]. When I got out in the previous match and checked my phone, a lot of things were said about me. When someone says something to me personally, it affects me a bit and I answer with my bat,” Sooryavanshi said in a video posted by RR on their official social media handles.

After a magnificent knock, Sooryavanshi briefly got hold of the Orange Cap, topping the runs' board. Reflecting on his knock, the Samastipur-born batter revealed that his only plan before taking his guard was to play with freedom and express himself.
"I don't have a plan for a first-ball six. Before the match, we planned to play freely. To back our game. I thought the wicket was playing well, I backed my game. For the team, I wanted to give my 100% and back my game. I thought that about what shots I can play, and try to visualise it. The wicket is playing well. Got help with the new ball, the fast bowlers. It's a good shot. Disciplined ball and looking to execute plans," he told IPL after the match.
