The Match No. 22 of Internatonal League T20 (ILT20) 2025-26 is set to be between Desert Vipers (DV) and Sharjah Warriorz (SWR) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday, December 20. This will be the second match within a 24-hour period that the Warriorz will be featuring in.
The Vipers kicked off their ILT20 in stunning fashion by winning six matches in a row. They were on their way to another win. However, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders clinched the contest by one run to break the winning streak by the narrowest of margins.
The Warriorz, on the other hand, got off to a horror start after losing all three of their first three games. They then proceeded to win their next couple of matches by six runs and 11 runs, respectively. They have won two and lost three ahead of their clash against Dubai Capitals.
The Dubai International Cricket Stadium has been a venue which has supported the teams batting second. Even in this season, the teams batting second have been considerably successful while chasing the targets. Bowlers, especially the spinners, might have to depend on variations to curb the flow of runs. A high-scoring contest may be on the cards.
Max Holden, Hasan Nawaz, Sam Curran, Shimron Hetmyer, Tom Bruce, Dan Lawrence, Vriitya Aravind (wk), Khuzaima Tanveer, Lockie Ferguson (c), Qais Ahmad, Noor Ahmad
Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Johnson Charles, Tom Abell, Sikandar Raza (c), James Rew (wk), Dwaine Pretorius, Harmeet Singh, Ethan DSouza, Adil Rashid, Taskin Ahmed, Wasim Akram
Other than the 48-run knock which Shimron Hetmyer played against the Knight Riders in the, the left-handed batter has not been able to find form. With the team firing, this particular match may just be the one in which the Caribbean Southpaw gets going and finds himself among runs.
The Vipers' captain Lockie Ferguson will be entering this match on the back of a three-wicket haul. His pace has been up and Ferguson can be expected to be a menace to the opposition in the powerplay as well as the death if he gets things right.
