MI Emirates (MI) take on Desert Vipers (DV) in match No. 9 of the ongoing International League T20 (ILT20) 2025-26 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, December 9.

MI Emirates have started their campaign with one win and one defeat. They were outplayed by Gulf Giants in their opening fixture. However, the Kieron Pollard-led side bounced back with a thrilling four-run victory against Sharjah Warriorz.

Meanwhile, last season's runners-up, Desert Vipers, have won both games they have played so far. They defeated Dubai Capitals by four wickets and followed it up with a two-wicket win against Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. Ahead of the clash against MI Emirates, the Vipers will face the Gulf Giants on Monday in Dubai.

The Sheikh Zayed Stadium will be hosting its first match in ILT20 2025-26. The surface is expected to be a bit sluggish. Pacers could have some assistance when the ball is new. Dew could come into play as the game goes on, and that is why the captain who wins the toss would want to bowl first.

Muhammad Waseem, Jonny Bairstow, Tom Banton, Nicholas Pooran (WK), Tajinder Dhillon, Kieron Pollard (C), Romario Shepherd, Rashid Khan, Chris Woakes, Muhammad Rohid Khan, AM Ghazanfar.

Fakhar Zaman, Andries Gous (WK), Max Holden, Sam Curran (C), Dan Lawrence, Shimron Hetmyer, Hasan Nawaz, Khuzaima Tanveer, Qais Ahmad, Naseem Shah, Noor Ahmad.

The USA wicketkeeper-batter, Andries Gous, started his campaign with a brilliant half-century. In the last game, he got off to a blistering start before getting out for a nine-ball 17. Gous will be the batter to watch out for at the top of the order as he can take advantage of the field restrictions inside the powerplay.

Noor Ahmad has picked up two wickets in each of the two games played by the Vipers this season. The Afghanistan spinner's four-over spell is going to be crucial. He will have a key role to play in the middle overs.
