Shreyas Iyer has been selected to lead India A for their two-match unofficial multi-day series against Australia A in September. The Senior Men's Selection Committee announced the squad on Saturday, September 6.
Wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel has been appointed as the vice-captain while N Jagadeesan has been picked as a second-choice wicketkeeper. Ayush Badoni is expected to provide stability to the middle-order.
The pace battery consists of Prasidh Krishna, Khaleel Ahmed, Gurnoor Brar and Yash Thakur. Ace all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has also been picked. The spin-bowling unit has been plenty of variety, as Mumbai's Tanush Kotian will be accompanied by the left-arm spin duo of Harsh Dubey and Manav Suthar.

Notably, KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj will be added to the squad for the second multi-day match. They will replace two players in the squad after the first match. The two players were not shortlisted for India's Asia Cup 2025 squad, and are currently resting after being involved in a high-octane England series.
Both the unofficial Tests will be played at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, with the first game set to be played from September 16 to 19 followed by the second one from September 23 to 26.
The two-match series will be followed by three unofficial ODIs. The white-ball matches are scheduled to be played at the Green Park in Kanpur. The senior teams will play three ODIs and five T20Is in Australia in October-November.
