IND A vs AUS A 2025: India A vs Australia A, 2nd Multi-Day Match Preview

Published - 22 Sept 2025, 17:42 IST | Updated - 22 Sept 2025, 18:43 IST
The first multi-day game ended in a draw between India A and Australia A at the BRSABV Ekana Stadium in Lucknow last week. The second game will take place at the same venue and it gets underway on Tuesday, September 23.
India A will be bolstered by the addition of KL Rahul and Mohammed Siraj. Shreyas Iyer is set to lead the side once again. In the first encounter, Australia A declared for 532/6 in 98 overs. Sam Konstas and Josh Philippe slammed centuries, while Campbell Kellaway and Liam Scott registered quickfire fifties. All the Indian bowlers were expensive, but Harsh Dubey picked up three wickets in 27 overs, conceding 141 runs.
In reply, Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel scored 150 and 140, respectively. Sai Sudharsan and N Jagadeesan scored half-centuries as well. Corey Rocchiccioli took three wickets in 36.1 overs. After India declared for 531/7 in 141.1 overs, Australia made 56/0 before the two captains shaked hands.
The first match was played on a flat deck which did not have much help for the pacers or even the spinners. Both teams would not mind playing the second match on a surface which would pose a more even contest between bat and ball. The captain who wins the toss should look to bat first, as the pitch could assist spinners as the match progresses due to wear and tear.
Shreyas Iyer (C), Devdutt Padikkal, Abhimanyu Easwaran, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Dhruv Jurel, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Harsh Dubey, Tanush Kotian, Khaleel Ahmed, Mohammed Siraj.
Sam Konstas, Nathan McSweeney (C), Oliver Peake, Campbell Kellaway, Josh Philippe (WK), Cooper Connolly, Liam Scott, Xavier Bartlett, Todd Murphy, Corey Rocchicioli, Fergus O'Neill.
