Punjab Kings (PBKS) duo Priyansh Arya and Shreyas Iyer delivered spectacular centuries as India A dominated Australia A in the rescheduled ODI on Wednesday, October 1 at Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. Australia A won the toss and elected to field first, a decision that quickly backfired.

The openers began the innings with Arya partnering alongside Prabhsimran Singh to lay a solid foundation, adding 135 runs for the first wicket. Arya played a brilliant innings, scoring 101 runs off 84 balls, including 11 boundaries and five sixes, before being dismissed by Tanveer Sangha. His aggressive approach set the tone for the rest of the batting line-up and gave the hosts a commanding position early in the innings.

Later in the innings, India A skipper continued the assault on the Australian bowling attack. Iyer scored a masterful 110 runs off 83 balls, hitting 12 fours and four sixes. His innings, combined with contributions from the rest of the top order, pushed India A close to a 400-run total and exposed weaknesses in the Australia A bowling line-up.

The first ODI, initially scheduled for September 30, was postponed due to persistent rains, giving the teams a fresh start the next day. India A eventually posted a commanding total of 413 for 6 in their 50 overs. Prabhsimran supported Arya with a knock of 56 off 53 balls, while the middle order fired, with Riyan Parag scoring 67 off 42 balls and Ayush Badoni adding a quick 50 from 27 deliveries. In total, five batters crossed the fifty-run mark, which reflected India A’s depth and dominance.

For Australia A, skipper Will Sutherland took 2 wickets for 73 runs in his nine-over spell, while Tom Straker, Liam Scott, Todd Murphy, and Tanveer Sangha picked up one wicket each. Despite their efforts, no bowler was able to control the run flow effectively. With Yudhvir Singh Charak, Gurjapneet Singh, Simarjeet Singh, and Ravi Bishnoi forming a strong bowling attack, Iyer & Co. set the Australians a daunting target of 414 runs to chase.
