IND vs AFG 2026: India vs Afghanistan Highlights & Review – 2nd ODI
India registered a commanding 170-run victory over Afghanistan in the second ODI at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on June 17, sealing the three-match series 2-0.
After opting to bat first, India posted a massive 402 all out in 49.5 overs. Shubman Gill starred with a brilliant 150, while Ishan Kishan smashed a century as the hosts dominated the Afghan bowling attack. For Afghanistan, Nangeyalia Kharoti impressed with figures of 4/76, while Rashid Khan claimed 3/48.
In reply, Afghanistan were bowled out for 232 in 44.3 overs despite a fighting 79 from Rahmat Shah. India’s bowlers maintained control throughout the chase, with Arshdeep Singh and Gurnoor Brar taking three wickets each, while Prince Yadav chipped in with two scalps to complete a dominant all-round performance.

Indian captain Shubman Gill emerged as the top batting performer of the match with a magnificent 154 off 110 deliveries. His innings was studded with 22 fours and two sixes and came at an impressive strike rate of 140. The right-hander first stitched together an 87-run partnership with Rohit Sharma for the second wicket before combining with Ishan Kishan for a match-defining 224-run stand off just 140 balls for the third wicket.
Nangeyalia Kharoti was the standout bowler of the match, finishing with impressive figures of 4/76 from his full quota of 10 overs. Kharoti's scalps included the prized wickets of Indian captain Shubman Gill, centurion Ishan Kishan, as well as Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul.
Shubman Gill was named Player of the Match for his outstanding batting performance. The Indian captain smashed a brilliant 154 off 110 balls, laced with 22 fours and two sixes, as he dominated the Afghanistan bowling attack.
The third ODI in this three-match series takes place on Saturday, June 20, at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
