IND vs AFG 2026: India vs Afghanistan Highlights & Review – 3rd ODI
India registered a comprehensive nine-wicket victory over Afghanistan in the third and final ODI at MA Chidambaram Stadium on June 20, completing a 3-0 whitewash in the three-match series.
After winning the toss, Afghanistan elected to bat first and posted 218 runs on the board. Captain Hashmatullah Shahidi led the resistance with a superb 102, while Azmatullah Omarzai contributed a valuable 50. For India, Prasidh Krishna starred with the ball, claiming a brilliant five-wicket haul to restrict the visitors.
In reply, India chased down the target comfortably, reaching 224/1 in just 28.4 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal anchored the innings with an unbeaten century, while Rohit Sharma played an aggressive knock of 79 runs.

Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was the standout performer with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 110 off 86 balls. His match-winning innings featured 14 fours and three sixes and came at an impressive strike rate of 127.90. Jaiswal laid the foundation for India's comfortable chase by sharing a 170-run opening partnership with Rohit Sharma in 139 balls. After Rohit's dismissal, he remained unbeaten and added a further 54 runs for the second wicket with Shreyas Iyer in just 35 balls, guiding India to victory and completing the 3-0 series sweep over Afghanistan.

Right-arm pacer Prasidh Krishna was the standout bowler of the match, producing a superb spell of 5/23 in 8.2 overs, including two maiden overs. His incisive bowling dismantled the Afghanistan batting lineup as he accounted for the wickets of Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmat Shah, Hashmatullah Shahidi, and Darwish Rasooli.
Prasidh Krishna was named Player of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance in the third ODI against Afghanistan. The right-arm pacer produced a match-winning spell of 5/23 in 8.2 overs, including two maidens, completely dominating the Afghanistan batting lineup.
Shubman Gill was named Player of the Series for his outstanding batting performances throughout the ODI series against Afghanistan. The Indian captain amassed 238 runs in just two innings at an impressive strike rate of 135.23. Gill's prolific run-scoring included 33 fours and four sixes, underlining his dominance at the top of the order.
