India posted a competitive total of 284/7 in their allotted 50 overs. Shubman Gill scored 56 off 53 balls, while KL Rahul anchored the innings with an unbeaten 112 off 92 deliveries to lead the scoring for the hosts. For New Zealand, Kristian Clarke was the standout bowler, picking up 3/56 in his eight-over spell.
In reply, New Zealand chased down the target comfortably, reaching 286/3 in 47.3 overs. Will Young laid a solid foundation with 87 off 98 balls, before Daryl Mitchell took charge with a match-winning unbeaten knock of 131 off 117 deliveries to guide the visitors home. From the Indian bowling attack, three bowlers managed to pick up one wicket each.

He was involved in a crucial 162-run partnership off 152 balls for the third wicket and later added an unbeaten 78-run stand off 57 balls for the fourth wicket to seal the game for his side.
Kristian Clarke was the standout bowler in the second ODI against India. He returned figures of 3/56 from his eight overs at an economy rate of 7.00. The pacer dismissed the crucial wickets of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Shreyas Iyer, tightening New Zealand’s grip on the Indian batting innings.
Daryl Mitchell was named Player of the Match for his unbeaten 131-run knock. In his last four ODI innings against India, Mitchell has scored three centuries and one half-century. He also formed two crucial partnerships with Will Young and Glenn Phillips to guide New Zealand to victory.
India will take on New Zealand in the third ODI of the three-match series on Sunday, January 18 in Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore.
