The second Test between India and West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi has witnessed high-quality cricket since its start on October 10, 2025. While India dominated the opening exchanges courtesy of Yashasvi Jaiswal’s marathon 175 and Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 129 in their first innings 518/5 declared, the visitors fought hard despite being enforced to follow on after being bowled out for 248. Day 4 saw some spectacular passages of play, including Jasprit Bumrah producing a peach of a delivery that left West Indies’ Jomel Warrican with no answer.

The memorable moment arrived in the 94th over of West Indies’ second innings, with Bumrah steaming in to bowl at Warrican. Delivering a fullish length ball from around the wicket, Bumrah managed to land it just on the fourth stump channel, angling it in sharply. Warrican’s footwork was minimal, leaving a sizeable gap between bat and pad. The ball caught the inside edge, brushed the back pad, and ricocheted into the leg stump, sending it cartwheeling. The dismissal was a classic display of Bumrah’s ability to use angles and subtle seam movement to dismantle a batter’s defense.

Warrican departed for 3 off 6 balls, and Bumrah’s figures stood at 13.2 overs, 5 maidens, 27 runs, and 1 wicket in this innings, having bowled with relentless accuracy. The dismissal reduced West Indies to 307/8, with the innings hanging by a thread.

A classic BOOM-rah wicket. 💥

The stump goes for a stroll and #JomelWarrican has to make his way back to the dressing room. 🚶

Despite trailing by 270 runs after the first innings collapse, West Indies showed commendable grit in their second innings. John Campbell played a stellar knock, scoring 115 off 199 balls, combining patience with controlled stroke play. Partnering with Shai Hope, who made a resilient 103 off 214 balls, the duo stitched a mammoth 150-run third-wicket stand that tested India’s bowling depth.

With Campbell falling to Ravindra Jadeja and Hope departing to Mohammed Siraj after reaching his century, captain Roston Chase contributed a handy 40, keeping India at bay. Lower-order resistance from Justin Greaves (35*) and Jayden Seales (18*) further frustrated the hosts. By Tea on Day 4, West Indies reached 361/9 in 109 overs, holding a lead of 91 runs.

India’s bowlers, led by Kuldeep Yadav’s 3/92 and Bumrah’s incisive spells, have kept probing at regular intervals. Siraj and Washington Sundar provided crucial breakthroughs, while Jadeja kept building pressure with his tight lines. Yet, the visitors’ second innings stood as a testament to their competitive resolve, recovering from the despair of the follow-on to force India into prolonged work in the field. West Indies put up a formidable target for India of 121 runs after getting bowled out for 390.
